stoeptegel wrote:Nope, after you have done that it will allow you to apt-get build-deb a program. So you do not have to look for dependencies when it comes to compiling the stuff.

So if you would have a line with for example:
Code: Select all
deb http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/ sid main contrib non-free

Then you would need to add a line underneed with this:
Code: Select all
deb-src http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/ sid main contrib non-free

The lines with deb-src in file /etc/apt/sources.list are probably already there but just commented out with # in front.

Btw, what distribution?

I have Ubuntu 7.10 ?

In the Menu select System->Software Sources, and check the "source code" box.

Then in a terminal do
sudo apt-get build-dep ktorrent
for 2.x.

What exactly happens when you do the build-dep command in a terminal?

Did you check the box in the software sources window?

Details, please, so we can help you. I use Ubuntu as well so hopefully I'll be able to figure it out.
