I have a problem with upload speed. I am using ktorrent on private network (1Gbit) to seeds a lot of torrents (about 600) and when I use some torrent client (uTorrent) I am not able to download torrent faster than 3MB/s
When I try to download other one also I got max speed about 3MB/s. Each torrent is somehow limited to upload about 3MB/s. I check settings, but there is not limitation turned on.. All is set to unlimited. When I use FTP to download data from the server where is running also ktorrent, there is only one limit to (harddrive) speed is about 25MB/s. Does anybody has same problem? Currently I am using ktorrent-3.0.2-3, but all previous version had same problem for me.

Could you try 3.1.2 ?

I can confirm that this is a problem with 2.2.7 when seeding to any client that is not libtorrent (rtorrent) as well.

seeding to anybody on utorrent peaks just under 3MB/s per peer.


I'm in the process of upgrading my linux distro (KDE) in order to try 3.1.2, so I'll report back with what I find.

I tried to compile 3.1.2, but I had problem to compile some sheduler plug-in, so I disabled it and successfully compiled, but when I run ktorrent and did right-click it crashed and when I tried rpm package there was problem probabli with kio_http, because any torrents can not be annouced to tracker...

I am beginning to suspect there is a limit here to the upload speed that prevents me from uploading higher than 1500 KB/s with only some peaks at 2000. (3.1.4)

Do u have xp on the machine using μtorrent?
IS that machine connected to the network via WLAN?
