Maximizing *upload* speed

Sat Oct 25, 2008 2:30 pm
Greetings,

How should I configure KTorrent 2.2.5 in order to maximize upload speed? There seems to be quite a lot of possible leechers but they only use around 50% of bandwidth on average, while I’m willing to dedicate most of it to seeding.

Upload rates have increased dramatically when I set the number of upload slots to its maximum value, what else is possible?

U should as well set your upload limit to 80% of your real upload speed(the one tha is on the router's page, not the one u pay for  )

The number of upload slots should be configured depending on your bandwith.Simply the number of upload slots is the active leechers u can have per torrent. If this number is high u will have more active leechers on a torrent but the upload speed will be lower.

Enable DHT

Make sure all ports are forwarded properly. Set a number to ktorrents tcp port higher than 10000(its the one mentioned as port)

If u have encryption enabled, enable "allow unencrypted connections" as well

Set the number of connection setups to 10 or 15.

Upgrade to 2.2.7
