KTorrent doesn't let too many connections on per torrent?

This issue has buggered me often on both KT 3.1.4 and now also on 3.1.5

I have 1 torrent running with 823 seeders and 11419 leechers, over 12000 peers on the tracker.. but KT only connects 8 seeders and 71 leechers.. 80 of 12000 peers are actually connected.. why does KT not connect more than ~0.7% of the totals?

I have not set any limits in the config, so it should be able to connect, well if not all of them, then at least 10%..

This particular torrent is not a single case I have another torrent running right now with 2183 peers on the tracker and KT has connected to only 32 of them.

KT 2.2.x used to connect more than that.

Well, first is to say that more connections does not mean more bandwidth. But what happens if you announce some more?

I know it doesn't mean it necessary would go faster, but I have a 15mbitfiber line, and those 2 torrent uses a blazing 10KBps combined, if KT would let more peers in, I am fairly sure it would go faster. even 1200x1KBps is faster ;)

The torrent auto announces every 30th minute and it does not help I announce manually.

Actually after I posted the above post i went and set the max per torrent to 500 and the global to 50000 and it has not made a difference.

PEXD is utorrent protocol extension, it is a swarm seekers for new peers.

Yeah, you can find it under additional sources> PEX. In the new 3.2beta1 you can also disable it globally. But normally when a torrent is not private, PEX will be automatically enabled.

Okay, I found it, its on the context menus.... and yeah that and DHT is enabled.
On some of the torrents both are ghosted/greyed out but still enabled.

Then that might be a bug! They should then be marked out and greyed out.

I just built 3.2b1 and I still see the same issue with KT not letting in swarms or peers when they are available, such as a torrent with 3000 peers I only have an avg of 60 connected.

Maybe I should remove my settings folder and re-set up KT ?? I have not done that since v2.1.something

Right now I have a torrent running 8(69) seeders and 377(5419) leechers, still i don't have any limits set, and I have even tried to set them outrageously high with same result
