Should I use KTorrent?

Sun Dec 07, 2008 11:11 am
Hello!

I am hoping that your guys can help me. I currently have an old PC setup as a router/server/torrent server. I am using ClarkConnect for my router and server. I like it a lot and would highly recommend it. It does not have a torrent client built in, it was something that I had to add. I installed Torrentflux-b4rt, which uses tornado as the client and has a web interface for control. When it works it's great but it randomly will fail, and while I am working on it trying to get it running again, it will suddenly start, and I won't know why.

So, I am now looking for a replacement when I found KTorrent. I would like to layout what I am looking for and see if this fits the bill. Like I said above I am using ClarkConnect as a router server. I control this remotely using a web GUI. That is what I am hoping KTorrent can do for me. If it can can it be installed without using a GUI, honestly I don't know if ClarkConnect has a GUI, I have always used ether it's web GUI or used Putty to remote into it.

What do you think?

That is what I was afraid on, I checked it out on my laptop and it's is a real nice client. I found out that ClarkConnect is running redhat in the background. If I loaded X would I need to log in or would it run as a service in the background?
