Port question

Sun Dec 21, 2008 1:11 pm
Hi,

I'm really beginner in torrent stuff so bear with me.

I created a torrent file, but the seeding doesn't wanna start.

When I click on the "Trackers" it says
Status: Port 6881 is blacklisted

I guess it's not a good sign. :D

I read in the settings that upnp plugin help this, I enabled the plugin but nothing happens. It1s still blacklisted and doesn't seed.

Turn off DHT is Settings->Bittorrent
The tracker doesnt allow DHT! Likely cause it is keeping track/scores of leech/seed ratios for registered users.

The you have set something else in KT to use that port, cause its the default DHT port... Might want to disable PEX too, I am not 100% sure if it has an effect on that port.

Oh I forgot to say, you can right click on the torrent then disable DHT from "Addition Peers" :)

I've tried that too, didn't work. :(

Do I need to add the port to the upnp list manually or if I enable the plugin it does its job automatically?

No you are going to need to change your port to i.e. 49152 because the tracker has blacklisted port 6881.
