I'm running 3.2beta1 on a fresh install of Ubuntu 8.10 and noticed my computer getting sluggish the other day.

I ran 'top' and there were 2 kio_file processes using 80% of my memory. I closed ktorrent and they disappeared. I turned off the ipfilter plugin and the problem stopped.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but I had to manually download and load the bluetack filter list as well.

I'm ok with not using the plugin but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this or knows what may have caused it.

As usual, I simply blame it on Ubuntu and gnome whining about me using a kde4 app.
