Wed Jan 07, 2009 1:09 am
Hay all :)

I'v ben using KTorrent for quite a wile and am quite happy with it !

I'v finaley goten around to trying the IP filter plugin but cant get a list to load rite.

I used the URL that was in the window ...the bluetack.co.uk one and found the URL for the blocklist.org and put it in the window to. thay both DL'd fine but when it wint to convert it would get to 99% and thin give the eror corupt or incompatable file?

rite now this is in the use file window
/home/default/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/level1
and when you first start KTorrent it seas it's loaded and runing then after about 3 min it's
Status: filter file not found.

I'm using KTorrent 2.2.6 on KDE3.5.10 eney help geting a IPfilter list to load would be apresheated :)
All though every thing elce is fine even UPnP :)

thanks VINNY

I'm using Ktorrent ver. 3.1.2

I have "Use PeerGuardian filter" enabled.
IP Filter URL= http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/splist.zip
I click "Download/Convert"

"--Converting--
Converting block list to Ktorrent format. This might take some time.
Loading Text file....
100%:

Then I get this popup that says: There are no IP addresses to covert in
/home/lucky/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/level1.txt

If I directly download the splist.zip file myself and give my IP Filter URL of where I have placed it, the same thing happens.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong??

I'm getting this problem now, it must be a bug from a recent update...

Hi,

I've got the same issue. Whether I point the IP Filter plugin at a URL or local file (zip or txt) I get a dialog saying loading text file, then an error saying "There are no IP addresses to convert in ..../apps/ktorrent/level1.txt". I'm using KTorrent version 3.1.2, KDE 4.1.3 on Ubuntu 8.10. Would appreciate any help.

Cheers,

I'm having the same problem, but I think it is probably a change in how bluetack.co.uk are posting their files.

The url that used to work for me was http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/splist.zip but if I download that file manually, it's just an empty zip.

http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/level1.zip is a zip of a single file, level1.txt, which contains ip addresses, and looks like the right list for this, but using this in the ipfilter plugin doesn't work, as it looks for more than one file within the zip (i think it looks for level1.txt and splist.txt, possibly more as well) and requires that they all be there for it to work.

edit: Oh yeah, I'm using 3.1.5 on kde4.1.4

I'm running 3.1.5 under SuSE 11.0

I was getting the same error "no ip addresses to convert". splist.zip was empty..

I downloaded level1.zip and renamed level1.txt to splist.txt, then download/convert'ed it and it seemed to work.

I have been using splist.zip downloaded manually from the address:

http://blocklistpro.com/download-center/ip-filters/

and pointing ktorrent at the local zip file. Strangely this has now started working again, I wonder if there are some oddities in the formatting of the file that only crop pop up once in a while. Either way, I'd be interested to see how others get on with this method.

THANK YOU verry mutch sparky432 :) 8) :)

DLing the file splist.zip frome the URL you posted seams to have done the trick.

strangley the same file from blubluetack.co.uk woulden work loding the same way

I had tryed it with the URL in the file window-----downloading it and pointing KTorrent to it unziping it and pointing Ktorrent to the level1 and renaming level1 to level1.txt

but this was the first time all 3 files were prodused in /home/default/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent that is

level1,level1.dat,level1.txt

SO thank you agin for the problem seams to be solved.

I still have to DL the zip file manually. Does anybody have a working URL the Ktorrent can use to DL the IPfilter automatically?

I wish...
The bluetack forums said that there WILL BE NO HOTLINKING. You have to visit their site everytime. Probably for the ad revenue (?)

That's a bummer since ktorrent now allows us to setup download schedules for IP filter lists.

Ad revenue is a thought, but then, how many people updating a blocklist are actually going to see any ads??

At any rate, it would seem that http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/level1.zip would work, but ktorrent looks for splist text instead of (in addition to?) level1. If there's a way to change that... Also I suspect http://blocklist.googlepages.com/splist.zip would work but every time I try the page is over it's bandwidth limit.
