Every time the http cache cleaner runs my torrents disconnect (http://tracker.openbittorrent.com/announce). Do you have any idea why this is happening?

Don't know, what exactly do you mean by disconnect ?

I mean that as the cache cleaner begins...I'm not sure how often this happens, but it's the default setting, the download stops because the tracker is lost....tracker status setting changes from 'OK' to 'Could not connect to host tracker.openbittorrent.com: Unknown error.' Perhaps this is something to do with there not being very many public trackers around at the moment?

That sounds more like your network connection has gone down. Even if you can't connect to the tracker, the connections to the bittorrent peers are not terminated by KT, so the download should just keep going with the peers you are already connected to.

The infamous "launching http cache cleaner" bug has now struck my computer, now that I have installed Ktorrent, LoL. From what little I have been able to google up about this, it seems that when some KDE applications are installed, this service will activate. It runs itself every now and then and is becoming annoying, LoL.
the fix for this was to install Kcontrol but that is no longer available anymore. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 and if anyone knows how to delete this service, please let us know, Thanks. ![]() |

kcontrol has been replaced by systemsettings nowadays.
