Whenever I try to download a torrent I get the messages:
Question: The Directory path does not exist, do you want to create it? [yes] [no] Error: Cannot create directory path/torrentfolder [ok] Where path is an existing local path, and yes is selected answer to the first question. KTorrent version: 3.3beta1 O/S: Windows XP (new install inc sp3 + patches) {I know this says beta, but my selected version during install was "latest stable" - which at the time I assumed it knew what it was talking about!} |

yes
I tried creating the directories manually in Explorer, when it first failed to create, but the same error message is still given. (Also tried re-starting pc then downloading to the created directory - still get the same error message). |

ok, as it 3.3 beta I'm having problems with, I decided to uninstall it and go back to an earlier (stable) version.
Problem, using the KDE Windows installer, I can't find a Download server with an older version (ie the only k-torrent version I can find is 3.3beta1). Does anyone know a server/release combination that has an earlier (non-beta) ktorrent version? |

I can reproduce the problem, working on a solution.

It turns out that we were using a function which prepends a / infront of all paths on windows, so if you selected C:/stuff/downloads, we would be trying to open /C:/stuff/downloads, which would obviously fail.
This is now fixed by using a different function, which doesn't do this. |

Hi George,
Thanks for your reply! I'm pleased you've managed to track down the problem and fix it, but where can I pick it up from (sorry for my newby problem, but still getting used to the download manager in Windows)? Many thanks, Simon |

You would have to compile KT yourself (not that simple on windows) or wait for the next release.

I'm having this same problem running KTorrent 3.3b1 as part of KDE 4.3.2 release on Vista
When there is a release that fixes the problem please let us know what the version number is so we can try to get that version for Windows. Thanks, |
