I'm getting quite a few of these "Invalid response from tracker" messages on the Status page. It seems to be worse when my connection becomes more congested, but I can't be sure. Can I find out what's causing it? Is there a way to prevent it?

It's a known problem of some trackers sending bad HTTP, and KIO which does the actual announce is to picky and errors out. In 3.2.2 we added a workaround for it, by adding a more lenient HTTP implementation. You can enable that by going to the advanced settings and making sure "Do not use KIO for tracker announces" is checked.

For what it's worth, I just had to disable/uncheck "Do not use KIO for tracker announces", which appeared to cause "Invalid response from tracker" errors.
Apparently I have switched to using https for the torrent download links. I am using KTorrent 4.0.2 on KDE 4.5.1 (Kubuntu Maverick). |

This is probably due to invalid certificates, we need to add a dialog for this.

There is no dialog yet, but invalid certificates are accepted for now. |

I got a bunch of certification error dialogs (probably after upgrading to 4.0.5) for every torrent which has an invalid certificate and had to "accept it forever".
I would have expected to accept it only once and not per torrent. |
