So I've been having a bit of trouble ever since TPB switched to trackerless system.
I download a .torrent from piratebay and load it. 0 seeds and 0 leechers. I have DHT and PEX enabled and my status bar says "DHT: 131 nodes, 0 tasks". I assume I'm connected to other DHT peers, but none of them are giving me any seed or leecher addresses? So I check out the trackers used by the torrent and noticed that http://tracker.thepiratebay.org/announce and udp://tracker.thepiratebay.org:80/announce are on the list of trackers and enabled. I unchecked both of them, and immediately I get hundreds of seeds and leeches and my download starts up. What's going on here? My guess is ktorrent gets stuck trying to connect to the defunct trackers and doesn't attempt the other trackers or DHT. Now, I could manually disable the two TPB trackers for each torrent I download, but I do a lot of remote control and the web remote interface doesn't have the functionality to control trackers. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a way to fix this (e.g. to blacklist TPB trackers somehow)? I'm using ktorrent 3.2.4 with Kubuntu 9.10 Thanks |

Upgrade to 3.3.1, the tracker problem is fixed in that version, and DHT should find more peers.
