salvage kTorrent from Ubuntu crash

Wed Feb 10, 2010 2:22 pm
My Dell laptop stopped working after I accidentally pushed the 'MediaDirect' button - the following link shows the problem and the solution I'll be attempting: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=628229

This means that my laptop will have to be completely wiped, so I'll be salvaging what data I can.

What I want to know is if there's any file(s) that I can copy from kTorrent's directories which would have a listing of the torrents I have in progress? My hope is to be able to easily copy over all of the partially completed torrents to my new installation of Ubuntu. Is this possible? Ideal world would be easy populating of a new kTorrent installation with the torrents I currently have in progress, so they can pick up where they were left.

I have many torrents in progress so finding all the original torrent files online would be difficult!

Thanks,
Rob.

Backup these directories and files:

~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/
~/.kde/share/config/ktorrentrc

If you put the data back in the same place, everything will work again after the reinstall.
