Here's the thing, I've used Ktorrent for 4 years, it was once my preferred torrent client, now it seems like rubbish. I only say this because it will never open, I can't check the version from the GUI - it never gets that far before crashing.

here - look at this....

$ ktorrent
Warning: Connecting to deprecated signal QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString)
Warning: Calling appendChild() on a null node does nothing.
Warning: Calling appendChild() on a null node does nothing.
Warning: Calling appendChild() on a null node does nothing.
[tony@Tony ~]$ KCrash: Application 'ktorrent' crashing...
sock_file=/home/..../.kde/socket-..../kdeinit4__0

I've filed a bug report, in fact 4, using the KDE automated reporting system-thing and it's been marked as a duplicate and that bug is marked as FIXED

if it's fixed, why is Ktorrent still crashing ? Is this a Fedora packaging problem ? Is this a problem with the Fedora Repository ?

I can paste the backtrace here, but I'm doubtful that it will be read or dealt with in any meaningful way

anyway it's ktorrent-4.0 beta1 64bit for Fedora 13

Upgrade to 4.0.1, this will include the fix. You should not be running an old beta.

Because the fix is not in the version you are running.

Please, test ktorrent-4.0.1 from Fedora 13 updates-testing.

Code: Select all
su -c 'yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update ktorrent'

How do I install Fedora 11 to duel boot with vista? I have everything backed up, and I partitioned my hard drive. I was thinking that I could boot off of the Fedora 11 dvd, and install it to the partition that I made, and it will detect vista. Would that work?
