Ktorrent 3.3.4 Ubuntu 10.04 Gnome
I have IP Filter set to update everyday automatically. In the last few days, it seems to have developed some kind of problem, as it tries to update showing its peer guardian download window, which disappears before it can down load from peer guardian, and then restarts all over again. This happens very rapidly like it is chattering, and the process window follows me from desktop to desktop unfortunately always showing up in the upper left hand corner of my screen where the menus are most likely to be that I might want to access, such as Ktorrent's Settings menu that leads to IP Filter effectively blocking me from using the GUI to shut the auto update down. Ha Ha Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it? (Or is the problem on Peer Guardian's side?) Thanks! ![]() |

This looks like this is the website being down or having capacity problems.
So, I am going to change my question: Is there a way to change the IP FILTER window location so that I have a better chance of being able to use the menu to disable the automatic download option when this happens? -Or is there another solution short of killing the ktorrent process and waiting for the website to come back? |

I should probably increase the retry interval to something like 15 minutes, that should be less annoying.

Thanks George. That's a great idea. Where do I do that at?
I went to ~/.kde/share/config/ktorrentrc but there doesn't seem to be a retry value there unless I am missing it. Also, ~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/ip_filter seems to be empty Or are we talking grabbing source and compiling? -If so, I think I will just disable auto update if it gets to be a constant problem. |
