Hi all -
my router has successfully forwarded a port to my computers IP address. I've setup Ktorrent manually to use that port (I'm not using Upnp - I have disabled it in the router). Here's my question - does Ktorrent give any indication that the ports are forwarded properly? For example, some icon either red or green ? |

NO one knows anything about the incoming connections?
All I'm asking is does the client notify you if no incoming connections are received? Seems like a reasonable question ? All the other clients I've tried give some sort of visual confirmation that the ports are properly forwarded and data is received on those ports. If there is some sort of confirmation, where/what is it? |

The only way is to load the logviewer plugin and look for lines like "Authentication(S) to <some-ip>: ..."
The S indicates if it is an incoming connection. |

George, what does this mean? Why the failure? I see loads of these in the log:
Authentications(S)::ffff:116.24.3.55 : failure |

Setting up a bittorrent connection failed, nothing to worry about this will happen a lot.

Thanks George.
Do you think some time in the future the program will have a "test" button, or similar? Most of the other clients I've seen have such a facility to test if the forwarded ports are actually working. Also, how do you override the ratio for individual torrents? |

I was planning to add something like this. At least to have an indication if you received incoming connections. A test button is also possible, but then you would need to know the external IP (which is possible to find out with UPnP, however if you don't use that, a php script on ktorrent.org could do the test).
You can change that on the status tab |
