Running KT 3.3.4 on KDE 4.4.3 (bundled with Slackware 13.1)

Any time I mouseover the plugins tab KT becomes completely unresponsive. Switching to the tab works fine, but moving the mouse into the tab instantly crashes KT.

I'm trying to enable UniversalPNP. Saving any method of preventing this crash, is there any other way to load this plugin?

-- I should mention that my initial instinct was to turn off compositing in KDE. But this (and any other kwin trickery) seems to be ineffective.

Can you post the backtrace of the crash ?
