I've just installed ktorrent on Debian testing. The ktorrent is version 4.0.2.
I'm trying to use torrents for Debian DVD .iso files but ktorrents shows Seeders 0 (0) and Leechers 0 (0). The two torrents I'm trying are a) http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/5.0 ... so.torrent This is a new download. I don't have the .iso file The status for this is shown as Stalled. It's sometimes preceded by a warning triangle. b) http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/5.0 ... so.torrent I already have the .iso file (I downloaded it without using bittorrent). The status for this is shown as Seeding preceded by a warning triangle. In the configuration a) under Network, port is 43114 and UDP tracker port is 0. b) under Bit Torrent, I'm using DHT with UDP port 43114. lsof -i shows COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE/OFF NODE NAME ktorrent 3438 bruce 16u IPv6 201696 0t0 TCP *:43114 (LISTEN) ktorrent 3438 bruce 21u IPv6 202947 0t0 UDP *:43114 and I sometime see an established IPv6 TCP connection to [2001:6b0:e:4a18::37]:6969 I've used iceweasel browser to look at http://[2001:6b0:e:4a18::37]:6969/ and this shows 231 seeds and 17 leechers for the 1st DVD and 85 seeds and 15 leechers for the 3rd DVD. Any idea why ktorrent is showing Seeders 0 (0) Leechers 0 (0) ? |

Either the tracker was offline, or you couldn't reach it.
Both seem to be functioning at the moment. |

The problem is not that the tracker is offline, or I couldn't reach it.
As I stated in my initial post a) I have been able to use iceweasel to browse the tracker using url http://[2001:6b0:e:4a18::37]:6969/ b) lsof -i shows that ktorrent does establish a tcp6 connection I found from a ktorrent log file the url that ktorrent is using for one of the torrents. http://bttracker.debian.org:6969/announ ... %f5'%d4%b5 If I attempt to access this url with iceweasel, I don't get a reply. I don't know if this is a valid url or not I have asked on a debian mailing list if there are any problems with the tracker but there hasn't yet been a reply http://lists.debian.org/debian-www/2010 ... 00054.html |

The ktorrent forum has corrupted my posting of the url that ktorrent uses in my last message.
It's replaced most ot the url by .... and the link is wrong (' has been replaced by %27) The url is correct in the message on the debian mailing list. However the link is wrong (it dosn't take the ' and following characters as part of the url). I've ticked the box for Do not automatically parse URLs for this message to see that stops the url corruption. http://bttracker.debian.org:6969/announce?peer_id=-KT4020-XLjKMSCOc9g8&port=43114&uploaded=0&downloaded=0&left=4626774016&compact=1&numwant=200&key=685013993&event=started&info_hash=%15%ac%5b1%e7%d6%9d%a7%3a%9c%aeWQ%b6E%9f%f5'%d4%b5 |

I have this happen on a few trackers as well, I know it happened yesterday on www.smithstorrents.co.uk. It doesn't interfere with anything though. I also did have a look at the tracker tab, there was no error. The tracker was running fine and ktorrent seems to be transmitting with the tracker perfectly, all data sent and received were counted. It just has a problem showing the seeds. There was over 20 other seeds visible when I looked at the tracker stats on the webpage.

Try Settings -> Configure KTorrent -> Advanced -> Do not use KIO for tracker announces |

I have had that selected for a long, long time. That isn't what is causing is or a fix for it. |
