No, encryption has nothing to do with IP blocking

also is there away to check this is working correctly

You will get messages like this in the log (~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/log):

"A client with a blocked IP address (x.x.x.x) tried to connect !"

Yes .kde is a hidden directory, just enter the path in your file browser, or cd to it in a shell.

Great Thanks for that i have now had a look at this file and i can not see any instances of "A client with a blocked IP address (x.x.x.x) tried to connect !" but there are lots of lines like this

Fri Feb 4 14:52:59 2011: Qt Warning: QPainter::setCompositionMode: PorterDuff modes not supported on device

Any ideas

Of course if none of those blocked IP's attempt to connect, then you will not see any logging.

I've got KTorrent 4.1.2-1 and I'm trying to update the IP filtering list. Unfortunately, the only one that seems to work is the blocklist (dot) org SPLIST. What am I doing wrong? How can I use some of the other block lists in KTorrent?
