using Ktorrent 3.3.4 on slackware 13.1

I recently began using Ktorrent, got a few items, and started seeding them.

When I started the system today, I got a dialog box instead of Ktorrent, "Files are Missing", telling me that "Several (actually all) data files of the torrent so-and-so are missing. I opted to recreate them, which brought the error message "Cannot recreate missing files: Cannot create directory /media/Expansion Drive/Films/so-and-so/

This process repeated for everything I had previously downloaded. Yet the directories are there, and they each contain the files they should have, and occupy the appropriate amount of disk space.

I had started Ktorrent in a terminal, and it produced these messages while the above procedure was going on.
Code: Select all
g  ktorrent &
[2] 17430
[1]   Done                    alias hk='xterm -g 80x54 -title HotKeyIndex -e cat /home/g/Documents/HotKeyIndex'
g  Warning: Connecting to deprecated signal QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString)
<unknown program name>(17430)/: Communication problem with  "ktorrent" , it probably crashed.
Error message was:  "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply" : " "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken." "

g  ktorrent is already running !

In Ktorrent's gui the files are listed in Error Status. I did a Check Data on each of them. One file was declared nonexistent, in the others every segment failed the check. I examined files taken at random (10) from each of these downloads and everything appears normal, except their relationship with Ktorrent. I'd like to continue seeding these if possible, but how can I clear Ktorrent's error status for them?

This is usually from the drive the files are on not being mounted (or mounted correctly). Usual fix is to shutdown KT, (re)mount the dirve, and restart KT.

From a terminal, everything I left is normal, and can be ignored.

If the (re)mount doesn't work, try a reboot.

And if your system will do it, use the latest release (4.x).

Thank you for your help. Fortunately I got a lucky break. I'd started 2 more downloads, and noticed they weren't appearing where I had set Ktorrent to download them. Found them downloading into my home directory, which I guess is the default. So I copied the problem files into home and ktorrent found them immediately. Ran Check Data on them and they are all seeding again. I guess I must have disconnected my external HD (where I originally set Ktorrent to download) at one point, so it switched to the default location instead. Have to remember to quit Ktorrent before doing that in future.
