It appears KTorrent routinely requests files from my local web server on port 80. I can't find an explanation for this behavior, what benefit it may provide, or how to configure KTorrent to stop making those requests (which are pointless 404s).

Code: Select all
127.0.0.1 - - [01/Feb/2012:18:08:11 -0330] "GET /announce?peer_id=123456789&port=123456789&uploaded=0&downloaded=123456789&left=0&compact=1&numwant=123456789&key=123456789&event=completed&info_hash=123456789 HTTP/1.1" 404 123456789 "-" "KTorrent/4.1.2"

Does anyone know WTF? Thanks! :-)

You probably have a torrent with a tracker url like http://127.0.0.1/announce or http://localhost/announce.

That is the only logical explanation I can think of.

It must be. Im not sure what the wisdom is behind creating trackers that reference local host... Not a torrent expert by any stretch. Seems odd.

Thanks for the answer, I can stop digging through KTorrent configs.
