Hello,
I'm posting on the behalf of my friend. She is using latest Kubuntu with KTorrent, and there are a few problems with KTorrent. First of all, magnet links are extremely slow to open. There's an icon with job scheduler (or something), which says "inspecting". This inspecting can take a long time, from a minute up to several minutes or even longer. Pausing and re-starting the "job" doesn't seem to help. The second problem is that when opening torrents, no files are automatically selected to be downloaded. All files have to be manually selected to be downloaded. Is there an option to automatically download all files for all torrents? I have checked the "open torrents silently". That didn't change anything. I've added '--silently' parameter to ktorrent from System settings and file associations for bitorrent. The browser in question is Google Chrome, if that matters. The third problem is that Dolphin is started when opening torrents. Dolphin shows the list of files inside a torrent. How can one disable opening Dolphin? I want ktorrent to start and download the torrent, and I don't want Dolphin to open. There's an additional problem of not being able to use Transmission over KTorrent for magnet links, which is the whole reason KTorrent is used. But I guess that is a problem with KDE. The laptop in question is Acer Aspire 5755G/15.6"/Intel Core i7-2670QM/8 GB/640 GB/GT 540M 1 GB. |

aaaannnnnndddddd broke in 4.3.1. with DHT off will pop up window stating its off, and would be more efficient if it were on... with it turned on, it wont even acknowledge you clicked anything at all. just a few weeks ago it was working fine with DHT off, as i always keep it off.

I've just
install transmission # apt-get install transmission-gtk # apt-get remove --purge ktorrent And when click on a magnet link at chrome-firefox-whatever it shows dialog and open the link with transmission |
