Can maximum uploads or downloads be zero in Ktorrent?

No, 0 is used as a value for infinity.

Thank you, but why? Couldn't -1 be used for infinity like deluge? And 0 for 0? 0 is necessary in my opinion..

if you look at other torrent products including uTorrent & Bittorrent http://www.bittorrent.com/help/manual/appendixa0205 you'll see 0 used for unlimited, same for various download managers

Gnu/Linux is about the freedom, i have to be able to do whatever I want to do and no one should decide for me or choose my way. furthermore it is possible to set the upload limit to 0 in transmission.
I want to use ktorrent instead of transmission but just because of the lack of this option, I avoid to use that.
please add this feature.

well it's not about trying another client, it's about fixing some miss-developed free application
