Could someone kindly explain to me what this Ktorrent message "Sorry max peers reached!" means. I know what I need to do to fix it, but I would like to know why it has occurred, because about 90% of the torrents I am currently seeding suddenly show this message. Thank you.

Whilst I am not certain on the exact context, it likely means other torrent clients are attempting to download from you, but KTorrent is having to refuse their requests as all your upload slots are currently taken by other clients.

I thank you for your response, but I'm not sure that is the reason for it, because, in order to correct the problem, one is advised to download a fresh copy of the torrent and to seed from that. I didn't even do that, as I keep all the torrents I've ever downloaded. I simply deleted the torrents in ktorrent and seeded again from the originals, and all is well. I have the default setting of 2 upload slots per torrent, up to 200 simultaneous uploads, and limit the upload bandwidth to 120 KBps. |

Okay, rather interesting that would correct the issue. Thanks for posting the solution.
Just out of interest - does restarting KTorrent once this issue has been triggered have any effect? It sounds like KTorrent might be incorrectly keeping track of the number of active peers...
