Options disappeared on Ktorrent 5.0

Sun Apr 17, 2016 1:03 pm
Hi, I'm using last version of Chakra Linux.

I've upgraded Ktorrent to 5.0 and most of the options on the bottom line have disappeared.

Previously there were:

* Queue Manager
* Magnet
* Status
* Files
* Webseeds
* Peers
* Chunks
* Trackers

Now, only first two are still there.

Also, the Search Plugin is not there anymore.

Can I do anything to get them back? Will they be back in a new version?

options should be there, do you have: settings -> configure -> info wedget?

note: plugins were an issue in the intial port http://shaforostoff.blogspot.com/2015/1 ... -port.html, also note it was released yesterday so you may be running an earlier version http://shaforostoff.blogspot.com/2016/0 ... lease.html and just need a newer one

and search does seem to be missing

No, I don't.

In settings there's not single "configure", but "Configure shortcuts", "Configure toolbars", "Configure notifications" and "Configure Ktorrent". And in none of them there's an "info wedget".

And in Help -> About KTorrent -> Version I have exactly the same as you.

I would then guess its a packaging issue and you should ask your packager

One year later.

Search plugin is still missing, and Web Interface is missing too. Is there perhaps a reason?

KTorrent
Version 5.0.1
KDE Frameworks 5.32.0
Qt 5.7.1 (built against 5.7.1)
The xcb windowing system

I'm sure there is a reason... ;)

The search plugin has been added back a few days ago though, so will be available again in the next version.

No idea about the webinterface plugin. The code is still there, but it's disabled. It's probably not fully ported to KF5 yet or doesn't work...

The RSS plugin has disappeared in (at least) Opensuse's package since 5.0 as well, and I've had to downgrade to 4. Is this a Suse specific omission, or is it across the board? For me, it is the single most important plugin.

I suppose you mean the syndication plugin?

Not at all openSUSE specific, it's the same as with the search plugin.
It wasn't ported to Qt5/KF5 yet when 5.0 was released and was therefore disabled, but it has been ported and re-enabled meanwhile:
https://cgit.kde.org/ktorrent.git/commi ... f04a9381cc

Just that there was no new release so far...

FYI, ktorrent 5.1 has been released a few days ago, and brings back most plugins (the webinterface is still missing though):
https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde-anno ... 05374.html

KF5 port is now more complete than in KTorrent 5.0:
Multimedia, search, scanfolder, ipfilter, stats, scripting, syndication (rss) plugins
are now ported to Qt5. The only missing bits are webinterface plugin and plasmoid.

For openSUSE, a package is available in the KDE:Extra repo, also for Leap 42.x.
