Some typical steps...
> in the torrent client, look for the menu option to create a new torrent > you can select a single file or a folder at this point > and this is the tricky bit which I guess is what you're really asking, you need to fill in the trackers (this is an important step towards finishing your torrent upload) you just have to copy paste a list of trackers--more specifically called the announce URLs--and these are available on reliable websites e.g. TorrentFreak has a list of trackers you can use; GitHub also has a regularly updated list of public trackers; a Google search will net you others also in your case: don’t select the Private torrent box (unless you’re using a private tracker) which doesn't sound like something you would want to do > then save the torrent file with a descriptive name as soon as you save your torrent file, it gets added to your active list in the client and the status should say Seeding or Finished (if you start seeding right away) > another tricky bit is actually uploading the .torrent file to a tracker website of your choice; even a Google+ site should work what's nice with most tracker websites, they will provide an upload link or a button for your torrent be aware of t&cs, logins and such if you use such a tracker site > you could also share the link via emails or posts as I said... this is typically the process and will vary from client to client in my Xfce days I used Transmission but looking at KTorrent while I see it looks different, the process--above-- would be the same Trust that helps at least getting you started...
