Could you please advise, or provide more guidance?

I can start Ktorrent 22.04.3-1, and the GUI appears. After a moment, I get two popup messages ...

You are already downloading the torrent .... << the name of the torrent >>
The tracker list from both torrents has been updated.

... and then the GUI crashes. Yes, I probably had requested adding the torrents before I rebooted the system (now rebooted multiple times).

Starting up from the command line, I get ...

$ ktorrent
Warning: "Could not load plugin from /usr/lib/qt/plugins/ktorrent_plugins/ktorrent_infowidget.so: Cannot load library /usr/lib/qt/plugins/ktorrent_plugins/ktorrent_infowidget.so: (libGeoIP.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)"

If it helps, there is the inxi:

I've been running KTorrent for some years, and this is the first problem I've had.

It took me a while to figure out where the list of torrents (in progress) was stored -- the location in 2022 is different from many reports circa 2007-2008! The directory is at ..

~/.local/share/ktorrent

... where there are many logN directories (i.e. N = 1, 2, 3, ...).

Deleting just the logN directories still resulted in a crash.

Deleting all of the contents of that directory (leaving the directory empty) worked. KTorrent now starts without crashing.

This was a slower investigation than I expected.
