kate and magically moving comments

Tue Jun 16, 2015 4:52 pm
I must have tweaked a setting somewhere and have no clue what it was.
say I have the line
Code: Select all
int foo=0;
and proceed to add a trailing comment
Code: Select all
int foo=0; //...

the comment block will jump up to the previous line like so:
Code: Select all
//...
int foo=0;

Any guess on how might stop this maddening behavior?

Wow, I've never seen that. The only thing that could potentially do that imo is the C++ indenter. Try changing the indenter to something else and see if it still happens.

I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.

Yes, that's the problem. The C++/ Boost indentation thinks it knows best where I want to place comments. Bug report time. I can fix it by switching to normal or C style
