Hi everyone. I used to work on Xubuntu 14 in Kate and i had point "plugins" in settings in "Editor component" where i could manage plugins, such as autobrackets.
Recently i switched to Lubuntu 15.04 and i dont have such option. IHow can i get it? Or at least install autobrackets plugin? Sorry for my poor english |

Kate plugins should be in the Kate .deb package, try reinstalling it
run
also see if the plugins are available for a new user |

ahh, they're called "extensions" in the "Editor Component" and I also do not have those in 5

those extensions in 4 are suppled by libktexteditor package, I do not have/see a package for 5 could mean it was not ported
you could post a bug or ask status on #kate irc |

A bug report is here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=350317
It has been reimplemented recently: https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=ktexteditor ... 049a01ef46 So it should be in the next Frameworks release (5.16 in two weeks). But AIUI, it is built on now, and not a plugin. |

Wolfi232 know about the other extensions in 4, will they be ported?

Sorry, no idea. It looks to me that the whole extension interface has been removed though, not just the plugins. But then, there were only 6, and AFAICT (at least) most things they implemented are available in some form in Kate/Kwrite now anyway. Are you missing something specific? You should probably file a bug report then. |

The plugin has been deprecated
The functionality is back in Kate 15.08.3, KDE Framework 5.16.0 Can be enable via a Checkbox in "Configure Kate", "Editing", "General", "Auto Brackets" works fine so far, did not encounter any issue with it |
