A suggestion for Kate.

Using other editors (context, bbedit) I miss a bit of functionality ie. the ability to highlight a single line of code by a single click on the line number. Kate knows which line you are on as a copy/paste works but a single click on the line number followed by another keypress such as delete does not select and then clear the line.

This would be very useful indeed.

Is the forum a good place to make suggestions or is there some better location?

Sounds like a useful wish to me. The best place for it is bugs.kde.org, product kate, severity "wish".

I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.

Thankyou for the pointer, I have raised it there.

Question: Is it incorrect to raise these suggestions here too to gauge interest? Does this sort of submission appear as duplication?

I suppose I am asking should I raise my suggestions only in the KDE bug reporting tool?

I think the forum is a more suitable place if you have a rough idea and want some feedback / discussion. If on the other hand you have a concrete suggestion already, it fits better on bugs.kde.org, since it's easier to track there. Especially something like this can be flagged as a "junior job" and somebody looking for something small to do might pick it up from there.

Greetings!
