I'd like to do a simple thing (at least I hope it's moderately simple):
I'd like to make my own version of KDM, and install it on my system. I have downloaded the sources for kdebase, but I can't find any Makefiles. I'm something of a newcomer to make and cmake (and to C, for that matter). I've been working with computers for 40+ years, so I understand the principles, but I don't have any experience with C and the "modern" way of writing an operating system, with hundreds of thousands of little files. When I used to write operating systems, it was all in assembly language, and only about 20 files. Oh well. Is it possible to do what I want (a new KDM), and how do I go about it? Thanks for any help. --Phil |
