Although I have experience only with OmegaT, I found that both OmegaT
and Lokalize are good and free CAT tools. However it is a little sad that all teams behind these tools are reinventing the wheel again trying to develop their great and mature CAT tool. I know that effort to connect these three branches would be difficult and time consuming, but there are several benefits: - all developer will focus on one application - even more platforms like solaris or haiku if software is ported to Qt (Lokalize) from Java (OmegaT and OmegaT+) - faster development - better and native look and feel after porting to Qt on all platforms - best free and open source computer aided translation app What do you think?

Possibly, although given that the developers involved all have an investment in the chosen technologies a shift such as this is unlikely.
