session lock problem of KDE 4.4.5

Tue Apr 12, 2011 2:58 am
I install Kdevelopment 4.4.5, but the thing is that I can only open one session, when I tried to open a second session for another project, it says "this session is already active in another running instance".
Some one propose to remove the "~/.kde/share/apps/kdevelop/sessions/*/lock" file.

It worked.
So I can open a second session.
But if I want to open a third one, same problem, then if I remove both "lock" files, I can open a fourth one.

But I cannot do this forever, is there a solution for this?

Thanks so much.

I would not recommend removing the lock files under any circumstances, they likely exist for a reason. However, I would expect to be able to open two or more seperate projects in KDevelop.... You may wish to file a feature request at bugs.kde.org, and continue with your solution in the interim.

Thanks for your reply.
Somehow if I wait a bit longer between opening two sessions, the problem goes away.
