It's now been 2 months since the 2.7 update came out and there is still no Windows update.
All I read ist that the windows developer is tied in real life and you know what? I would love to not care anymore.
First let me say I love and hate Amarok. I love it for all the features, especially the dynamic playlists are a dream come true and I hate it for the Windows port.
The GUI is slow and some time doesn't respond for minutes. I get an error message at every start that there is a table missing in the SQL-Database (never fiddling with it and many clean wipes of amarok didn't help). Amarok needs a ton of other kde processes to work, which most of the time do not terminate when you terminate Amarok. And don't get me started with the skinning, which seem to work for some people on windows but not all and nobody knows why.

So you have no developers for windows and the current version doesn't work as good as it should. Maybe its about time to face reality and stop development altogether. This at last would give us people out there who are waiting for an update some closure.

Ok, then let's go through this post and tell everyone what is wrong here...

True, and i take bets the dev would love so as well... Still, this sounds highly disrespectful. But more down that post.

No one forces you to use one particular application, neither on Windows nor on Linux. Use what fits you best.

The best way to have something fixed is writing a bugreport and/or testing the beta releases. If it doesn't get tested bugs don't get fixed. As easy as that. And everyone can test.

The other reality is, that users are highly unthankful and disrespectful.
So let me rephrase: KDE is an open source project, which means the volunteers do all the work in their spare time Work that you can use without paying a single coin! Notice where the problem is?
Real life strikes us all, and maybe that certain one developer really has no time anymore, and will not, and as such there will be no more work on the windows port. But it is not up to suggest such things.
You can be happy that you have what you use right now. Sad it doesn't get fixes quickly enough, but not more. This is no business product where you have the right to demand anything.
So in short:
* the closure is, the situation is uncertain, as sad as it is
* you should really consider honoring the Code of Conduct, this is not the place to start any flamewar about the usefulness of any project, a rule everyone has to obey here.

Please, do not stop the Windows Amarok, because I have difficulty with Linux environment.

Please, please, please, I beg your commitment to Windows Amarok, I love this soft and I cant use Linux.

Please, pardon our colleague for use of offensive language.

Thanks a lot!

Nobody said we would :)

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
