Amarok on Cygwin

Wed Oct 03, 2007 10:26 am
Is it anyway possible to compile it on Cygwin? I tried but it didnt work.  It needs KDE.

The idea is to make this amazing player available to windows users too. If anyone wants to help I would be more than happy to start an open source project in .NET.

I dont know about runnign Amarok on cygwin. You might want to as Google.

As for getting Amarok running on Windows, the nex major version, Amarok2 will at some point in its release cycle be made available as a native Windows application, so helping out with  that when the time comes would most likely be a better use of the effort.

Technically, Amarok already compiles on Windows, but we have no audio backend. We are awaiting the status of the Phonon integration into Qt, that would most likely solve this problem for us for free! :-)
