Hi guys,

So I just installed Amarok on windows 7 ultimate edition and everything works fine except it doesn't play any of my MP3 files.

Looking online I found a possible cause being problems with the MP3 headers but I don't know much about that so does anybody have any solutions?

I compiled it using the msvc 32 bit compiler selected in kde for windows installer that I downloaded just today and used the latest nightly build of amarok for source.

The problem is mostly with Phonon (the multimedia system that Amarok uses). Its Windows backend is not yet very good, and we are working hard on a better backend.

However, if you don't get any sound at all, maybe there is a codec missing. Please ask in #kde-windows, on irc.freenode.net. Our Windows experts are there.

thanks :D

Codecs are just MP3 and Flac but I'll ask in IRC. Its weird because it tries to play and the OSD comes up with now playing song but then immediately stops.

I read the Phonon system was causing the problems alright but didn't know how to fix it or even where to ask so will try the IRC. Thanks.
