I am using Amarok in Windows, for one folder the selecting a folder option works and only the MP3's in that folder are added to Amarok. Problems arise when I select my whole music folder to import. When I do this Amarok scans my entire PC for music files and imports every file on my computer. This results in hundreds of game sound files and other random files.
