Hi all,
I'm running Amarok 2.3.2, KDE 4.5.4 on Windows 7 64bit Ultimate. I'm having trouble populating my music collection. When Amarok scans the collection, it reaches 100%, but only includes 6,299 songs in the library (of approx. 8,000 total). Re-scanning the collection has no effect. The data is currently stored on an NTFS partition. The scanner seems to be reaching a certain point and stopping, rather than skipping random files (in Amarok my collection stops in the middle of S). I've tried re-installing Amarok. I've also tried using an external MySQL database, to no effect. Any ideas? Cheers |

2.3.2 is really old and there are known issues with the collection scanner. 2.4 has a much more reliable scanner.
It's weird that it seems to be stopping at S (you can try, say, adding just T onwards to the collection and see if it can scan those correctly, to work out if it's hitting some sort of numerical limt), but there's not really very much we can do for such an old version. |

I can second that. Update to a current Amarok version and then look at the debug output (that you can get if you start Amarok with --debug)

Updating seems to have done the trick - I didn't realise that the version installed by the WinKDE installer was so old.
Thanks guys! |
