Hi,
I was thrilled by the possibility to use the same media player on Linux, Windows (used iTunes here), and OSX - but... I played around, and "floated" the panes for media sources and playlist - don't know how you guys call this; I was playing around with the placement, and was able to drag these panels out of the main window. Now they are outside, and there's no way to get them integrated again. They will open independently from the main window when Amarok starts, and the media sources panel cannot be moved at all. The playlist panel can be moved when I click and hold on the blue bottom bar, but moving it around the Amarok main window does not allow to integrate it there again. Even worse - uninstalling and reinstalling Amarok does not help a single bit - both panels appear again at their last position. How to fix this? Technical Stuff: Amarok 2.4.3, KDE 4.7.00, build date Aug 17 2011, on Windows 7 Regards, nobi |

First of all: ensure that the layout isn't locked (view > lock layout). You should be able to drag the panes around by the bars at the top and drop them back into the window. If this doesn't work, read on:
You'll need to delete the relevant config files, rather than reinstalling the software itself. Amarok's folder should be something like %APPDATA/kde/share/apps/amarok, with other config files beginning with amarok in %APPDATA%/kde/share/config/ (I'm not entirely sure of the exact pathing on Windows, but it should be something like that). There's a file called layout in the first folder; deleting that should be sufficient. If not you can remove the amarok* files in config as well. Please report the issue on http://bugs.kde.org/. |

Hi, I have the same problem on windows 7 (64bit). Once I moved the panels they are stuck cannot be moved.
I completely deleted the amarock folder in C:\Users\Frank\AppData\Roaming\.kde\share\apps restarted app and it created a new folder and the problem remains. Also I have a DVD and also a Blu-ray drive. I can get the app to see the music files ok on the local hard disc, but even if I select the BluRay drive with an audio CD in it, it sees it as an audio cd but cannot be dipslayed in local music collection section. Apart from that I was getting on OK with the app. Any help appreciated. @fxv300 http://sites.google.com/site/tecchie2011/ http://sites.google.com/site/soundsokok/ |

You need to remove the config files starting with "amarok" from C:\Users\Frank\AppData\Roaming\.kde\config, not the application folder, to reset the pane position.
