Hi there,

I have installed Amarok 2.5 on my Windows 7 (64 bit) machine via the KDE installer. When I try to configure my collection, i.e. select the folder in the configuration dialogue, Amarok apparently doesn't register this at all. Selecting any folder and pressing "Full Rescan" does absolutely nothing. Also, amarokrc doesn't change when I select a collection folder.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi can you please check if you have a libmysqld.dll in your kdeinstallation/bin folder?

I just checked, I don't. How do I get it? I looked through the KDE installer and there are no references to mysql there.

May I ask if there are any new developments?

fixed, you maybe have to uninstall reinstall amarok with the installer.
but I got a new problem, after the latest updates, phonon-vlc doesn't find any output devices.

Ill write it here as soon as I fixed it.

I reinstalled. Now Amarok immediately crashes upon start. The error details are as follows:

Event name (Problemereignisname) is "APPCRASH", application name (Anwendungsname) is "amarok.EXE", error module name (Fehlermodulname) is "amarok_collection-mysqlecollection.dll". Tell me if you need more details.

phonon-vlc is fixed for mingw-w32 and msvc.
For the crash could it be that you installed the mingw-w64 version?
We know that mysql crashes when using the x64 version but we don't have a fix for it because we cant build mysql ourselves yet.

I would recommend to use a x86 version if you want to use Amarok.

I'll try that and get back to you.

edit: Just tried it, it works now :) Many thanks!

The only question I have left is this: The program reacts a little sluggishly to input. Do you happen to have a solution to that?

Anyway, finally Amarok again!
