Okular vs QT4 Poppler backend - PDF page rendering speed

Hello, this is my first post on this forum.
I would like to ask you about the possibility (or is it just my faulty perception?) of Okular being slower at PDF page rendering than my Poppler QT4 test application, for any reason.
I tried on my 2 Ghz dual core notebook and, when using Okular, I can see PDF pages while rendering (when I jump to far pages), altough it is hardly perceivable (like Firefox pdf.js but very much faster of course).
I wonder if Okular delays the display for some reason or it is really slower. Any information on Okular rendering speed performances is welcome.
Thanks

Hi,

Okular has settings for controlling memory usage, did you try changing them? The default is very conservative; if you set it to Agressive, it'll be much faster on most modern machines.

Greetings,

Hi,
thank you for the reply.
I checked out those settings but I saw no differences. I think that the slight difference (if any) is due to page caching: my test application does not feature it so I think Okular performance is good.
