Hi, I want to know, what the zoomlevel in okular says.
I would naively think, that 100% means, the viewed page is as big as it is in real, e.g. if i open a pdf with A4 paper (210mm*297mm) and set the zoom level to 100% it should match a real A4 paper, which it doesn't. Or is the zoom level just some arbitrary numbers, with no real meaning? Or even a meaning, I cannot see right now? I already checked my set monitor dpi (which is 98x99 dpi) and it matches my monitor real close 1440x900 pixel, 17". And what I also noted is that a real A4paper short side matches the onscreen long side of the same A4 paper at 100% zoom to a few (<5) mms. Could this be a bug about swapped directions, or does the zoomlevel not correspondend to real world (at least in that way)? Happy new year Christian |

Hello Christian,
>if i open a pdf with A4 paper (210mm*297mm) and set the zoom level to 100% it should match a real A4 paper, which it doesn't. Let us see, what happens if you print the page. I searched in an epub, but I did not find a "size" or any other command tag. I think 100% depends on the default settings in your OS (which in most cases should be DIN A4 when printed). greetings micca |

Hello!
I'm having a similar problem. Having 1680x1050 Pixel on my 15.4" notebook screen, which makes a resolution of about 128dpi. I entered this in /etx/X11/xorg.conf.d/21-dpi.conf
and xdpyinfo returns the correct dpi number. But when I open a PDF-File with the correct size (PDF properties say: 210 × 297 mm) when I select 100% in Okular I just get 117mm instead of 210mm width. But in difference to christianschneider, height is about 165mm which is not even near the 210mm of the short side length. Since PDF files really do embed the desired page size (Don't know about epub) this seems like it's not intendet to behave like that. For comparison, an A4 document viewed in LibreOffice Writer has the actual size in mm on the display, so the system seems to have the right configuration. Could maybe a developer say something about this? |

When you have it at 100% zoom, is the page taking up your entire screen or is their space available on all sides of the document on your screen?
