Installing Okular on Mac OS 10.8

Mon Apr 01, 2013 12:37 am
I have switched from MacPorts to Homebrew because of problems with some installations, but am dismayed to find that Okular does not seem to be available in Homebrew. I read that installing both MacPorts and Homebrew is ill-advised — without doing so, is there another way to get a current version of Okular on Mac OS 10.8?

Thanks!

What parts of KDE are available from Homebrew?
In particular, are kdelibs, kactivities and poppler available?

Apparently not much is available. Poppler is; kdelibs and kactivities are not.

Is Qt available? If Qt is available, then it may be possible to build up the needed dependencies for kdelibs.
Please note however that this is quite undefined territory, and not many people are known to build KDE applications on Mac OS X (so the steps needed to setup a build environment are not that well known).
