Okular and the annotation savings....

Mon Apr 14, 2014 11:48 am
Hello there,

first of all thanks cause Okular is the only pdf viewer that gives a good support of annotation tools.
But there is one feature that is for unknown reason still poorly supported: The possibility to save annotations inside the pdf.

Several posts I read there is stated with popplers 0.20 this is supported...

So lets have a ckeck:
- Ubuntu 13.10 with Gnome shell 3.8.4
- Okular 0.17.5 using KDE Development Platform 4.11.5
- Poppler-utils with libpoppler-qt4-4 0.24.1

Ok seems good doesnt it?

Well but when saving my annotated files (save as or save copy as) and open them in any other pdf viewer there are no annotations.
...
So folks please tell me what have I to do to work with annotations across different machines and os.
I dont have okular on my tablet... but I want to work with annotations there too... I wont get my colleagues all switch to okular (most of them using windows where you have a great support for annotations with adobe -.- *grrrr*)

This loss of feature annoys me now frequently since years and there is no solution yet? Thats poor :(
Please Help! Make my Linux experience better!

Can you please check which version of "libpoppler" itself you have? The version of libpoppler-qt4 has little effect here, as it is just the Qt 4 bindings for libpoppler.
