Hello,
When I copy text from a PDF/Okular to Klipper a newline is added. When I add this text to other apps then I have to delete the newline which can get very annoying if you are working through 600 pages of programming book. Is this a bug with Okular or Klipper or simply a bad PDF? Please see the video here. Thanks. |

I seem same behavior, you might want to search for an existing bug on bugs.kde.org and vote for it if one exists else create a new bug - either way posting a link to the bug here would be a good thing

My bugzilla searchfu is pretty bad. I wasn't able to find a related bug so I have filed one. Can you please comment to the bug report and maybe add a sample pdf if you are comfortable with that. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342874 |

As I thought about this I think that as it currently works is the proper and expected behavior - if a new line character is not inserted then all the pastes run together which for most people would be problematic, you seem to be an outlier as you want the pastes to run together.

You want to insert newline when there is a newline in your copied text. For example, you are copying two paragraph and there is a paragraph break in between. If I am copying exactly till the end of the sentence I am making a choice of only copying only those characters and I would prefer if no new elements like a newline is added by the system. Does that make sense? |

I'm gonna switch gears and agree with you for the following reason - I would not like that behavior as the KDE default and it isn't and because it's materially different then the KDE default you have a valid concern and because of that lack of consistency I too would consider it a bug.
I apologize for not thinking this thru before responding earlier ps - I' posted an agreement on bugs.kde.org and voted on it, you should also vote |
