Hi,
I have been using Okular to display PDF presentations (generated in latex with beamer). I embed movies in these presentations. On my Ubuntu 14.04 installation they displayed fine (using phonon-backend-vlc) but I just recently got a new laptop which has 16.04 on it and none of the videos render right. Sometime they are duplicated, sometimes scaled wrong, and the exact problem will be different when displaying the same slide multiple times. Anybody have any experience with this? Michael |

Hi,
Same problem here (Kubuntu 16.4, latex, multimedia, okular, vlc, phonon-backend-vlc). Any news with yours? I first realized that my video files could not be read at all (even outside okular). They were .mov files. I could finally read them by removing the option "accelerated video output (overlay)" in vlc preferences -> video, which does not seem to be compatible with my graphic card (Intel Corporation Skylake Integrated Graphics (rev 06), working with i915_bpo kernel module). But the problem is still there when reading the file from okular: the program crashes when I click on the video. I guess the solution would be to disable the overlay option in the phonon-backend too but I don't know how to do that! Any help welcome!
