A recent update to Okular (or Plasma) has changed the way that it opens PDFs. I'm now presented with a dialog.

Code: Select all
More than one backend found for the MIME type: PDF document (application/pdf). Please select which one to use.

I must choose from two identical options, each of which is "okular_poppler".

This adds a separate step whenever I open PDFs. Is there a reason for this question, and is there a way to prevent it?

Arch Linux (up-to-date)
Plasma 5.8.5
Okular 16.12.0

== EDIT ==
Looks like it's been fixed in Plasma 5.9.0 and Okular 16.12.1 or earlier.

I've the same trouble since one week :(
Only deviation is the output in German:
"Mehr als ein Anzeigemodul für den MIME-Typ gefunden:"
"PDF-Dokument (application/pdf)"

openSUSE Tumbleweed (up-to-date)
Kernel 4.9.0-2-default
okular -v = 1.0.0 / repo = 16.12.0-1.1
plasma-framework 5.29.0-1.1
plasma-nm5 5.8.4-1.1

Is it possible to select one as default or cancel the doubled value (no deviation can't be seen on the both options) .
Also with the extended settings in the filetype - now possible selection.
