Dear forum,
is it possible, as of 2018, to use Okular on Windows? The KDE-on-Windows project has apparently switched to a by-application approach when porting applications, and I was unable to find a download link for Okular on Windows anywhere. Also, is there any interest in publishing Okular on the Windows Store? With Microsoft's tools, it is apparently very easy to convert applications, and I'm sure a lot of people (myself included) would love to have a PDF reader there which is not MS Edge. This could also bring a lot of new users. |

Thank you. To be honest, I feel a link to the installer could be placed a little more prominently on the Okular website (like, for instance, KDevelop does on theirs). Downloading the daily build from the KDE Binary Factory does not really feel like downloading the official "release" version. But this is just my impression as an end-user.
Also, I would like to reiterate that it would be very useful if Okular was available on the Windows store. This would make the program easily accessible to a lot of people, and from what I've read, it is supposedly very easy to wrap Desktop applications in a Window store installer. Just to clarify: I am not suggesting or demanding that anyone do anything. I was just wondering whether this possibility has been considered before, and putting it out there as a suggestion. Cheers! |
