Hi, I have been using Okular for several years and have a lot (hundreds) of documents which have very valuable annotations that rely on the deprecated xml system. I got a new computer and wanted to sync the annotations. Normally I do this by synchronizing the ~/.kde/share/apps/okular/docdata directory. In my new installation (ubuntu 21.10) this directory does not exist. How can I sync my old annotations? I know I can do this one by one using a previous version of Okular and using 'Save As' to save the annotations directly in the pdf, but this 'by hand and one by one' procedure is only reasonable for a few documents, not for hundreds. Is there an automated solution to this? I'm guessing I'm not the first person with this problem but I failed to find a solution on the web. Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks but this is not what I mean. I'm not looking for a way to convert an xml file into a pdf. I'm looking for a way to transfer the annotations done in old versions of Okular, which relied on an xml file, into annotations directly on the pdf, like the ones in recent versions of Okular. I'll change the title of my post to make this clearer. |
