Text annotations miss umlauts

When I add a text annotation to an existing PDF and it contains umlauts (äöüÄÖÜß), they are missing in the displayed document, but are existing as data and are displayed by other display programs. So, the annotation 'annoäöütation' is displayed as 'annotation'. I am using 20.12.3.

Can confirm. Kubuntu 21.04, Okular Version 20.12.3
